I'm an author—though if you ask me, that title still feels a little terrifying. Don’t worry, I'm panicking enough for everyone. When I'm not tucked into my favorite chair, earbuds in, typing away on my beloved mechanical keyboard, I'm busy chasing after the husband and kids who bring chaos, joy, and meaning to my life.

From baseball diamonds to bookstores, I'm is passionate about storytelling—the kind that lingers long after the last page. I writes stories that sink into your skin, make you smile, maybe even kick your feet a little, and remind you to embrace your own brand of badass. And if along the way, I makes you fall a little in love? Well, that’s just a bonus.

I started writing entirely in secret, terrified to let anyone know that I wanted to tell the stories of the characters that take up so much space inside my head. For years, I simply wrote. I don't have a fancy degree in writing, or even a command of the English language (does anyone really know where a comma goes?), but I do have a deep love of people and the wide array of stories we contain. 

For a long time, I let that be my fuel. Now, thanks to some encouragement (read: made a deal with my husband), I'm putting those books out into the world, and writing brand new ones along the way. 

Personally, I don't over complicate the process. I live with the characters, I build out their personalities and profiles. I outline the stories that are meaningful to them. Then, I sit down and bleed on the keyboard. It's not actually strange to find me sobbing while writing or laughing or biting my lip - I even test out sassy responses out loud. 

In any other context, you'd think I was losing it, but really, I'm finding it. Then, I let my character's take over. Really, I become their hostage. Sometimes they just do stuff, other times they fight me, and in the best of all those worlds, we co-create their stories. In any scenario, my process is simple - write the words, live the story, love big, and see how it all turns out.
